Balancing Life
Balanced rocks on top one another
“You gotta make clear to yourself your priorities while always knowing your value..”
Balance. The Universe knows it well. Without it…Chaos would ensue. Balancing life, goals and tasks basically comes down to creating a sustainable blend of responsibilities, relationships, personal growth, and more importantly, rest, so you can function well, feel satisfied, and maintain long-term health. So many get it wrong and risk burnout as they strive for perfection in all areas or just one. They overdo things thinking they are making leaps and bounds towards completion of tasks or goals. Then bam! they get hit with a case of the burnouts or hit an invisible wall. It’s not about perfect symmetry every day; it’s about priorities, boundaries, recovery, and small positive movements in the right directions that keep you steady, honed, and balanced when life throws you some gnarly curvatures and changes ensue.
You gotta make clear to yourself your priorities and goals while always knowing your value. Never devalue self if can’t get something done in the manner you wanted or timeframe you were trying to achieve it in. You are trying, that deserves accolades in of itself. Change isn't easy, but can truly be worth it.
If feeling stuck, take a timeout, re-strategize, rethink, and retry a different approach while valuing the fact that you care enough to look at it a different way to see if can come up with another strategy towards your task or goal. Nothings perfect, not even a well thought out plan, but if it is worth it, than it is worth the time, sacrifice and emotional toll it can take at times to perfect it through working on it and making adjustments. The fact that you are able to or are trying to create different solutions to a task or goal, will boost your vigor to conquer the task at hand. To be able to pivot in place helps you not feel entrapped in failure at the current task(s) you are trying to balance. Whether that be family, health, learning something new, leisure time, career, school, or focusing on being more creative in the kitchen.
“Learn to protect your focused work and personal time folks…”
Decision making and prioritizing becomes way more easier if put into a list format for some individuals, so you can try that to help you balance tasks and goals on your to-do list. This way you can see which ones deserve more time and more thinky power to complete. Me, I just wing it using my mental faculties to see me through the prioritizing and solutions phase. Doesn’t always work 100%. I am just balanced in my rememberings and forgettings and have come to full fruition on that fact…Humour or truth? You decide. Also, this isn't about me, it is about you at the end of the day. That I will try to remember and not forget.
Learn to protect your focused work and personal time folks. Learn to distinguish between the two even though somedays they may overlap, that is ay ok as we are not robots, but beings. So having daily habits that boost your energy or positivity is a smart idea. It could be a jog, exercising, doodling, writing, even video gaming for a small block of time in your day to relax and detune. Doing this can go a long way in rejuicing the brains thinky juices needed to tackle more important priorities later on and help ward off burnout throughout your day. Somedays you gotta take yourself away to help you stay….(huh? I think it makes sense. You know what, I'll leave it in.)
“Aim for a resilient structure, clear priorities, protective boundaries, routines that support health and wellness, as health is wealth..”
Prioritize rest and relaxation on your journey to becoming more balanced in life with tasks and priorities. Consistent sleep supports mood and decision-making. Also helps to rebalance your emotional toll and mental well being. A good rest is crucial to every day life so that should be a priority in your life. You’ll be more aware, more there, less fragile, less emotionally drained and irritable, and more astute in your rationalizing capacity and understandings. More honed..
Remember, balance is dynamic, not static. Aim for a resilient structure, clear priorities, protective boundaries, routines that support health and wellness, as health is wealth. Making small manageable consistent tasks or goals over large hard to complete ones, will help you feel more in control and well balanced overtime. Many small wins equal a big one over time. You’ll see.
